If you go south on South Kihei Road, it will change from a residential area to a tourist area, and the sea water will become clearer. If the center of the luxury resort is Wailea and further south, you can see that the road suddenly got worse and we entered Makena.
At first glance, it looks like a countryside, but a super rich man has a mansion here. And there are beaches where you can enjoy the locals.
The biggest of these beaches is the Big Beach I mentioned earlier. The cove that sits quietly next to it is the Makena cove.
South Kihei Roadをどこまでも南に下ると住宅街から観光地へと変わり、海の水も澄んでくる。高級リゾートの中心地がWailea でそこからさらに南へ下ると急に道が悪くなり、Makena に入ったことが分かる。
一見田舎風景だが、ここには超お金持ちが豪邸を構えている。そして所々ローカルも楽しめるビーチが続く。
そのビーチの中で最も大きいのが前にご紹介したBig Beachだ。その隣にひっそりとたたずむ入江が Makena coveなのだ。
